Radio Flyer – making dream come true

Toys have been around since forever to nurture the imagination of millions of chidren. Today, kids still love those classic toys such as bikes, wagons, tricycles and rocking horses. The only difference is that it’s a new age and today’s families want safety, comfort and convenience. There are many companies that struggle to live up to the expectations and Radio Flyer is one of the best.

When a toy such as the rocking horse has had this much influence from one generation to the next, it is guaranteed to a stay a classic. This traditional gift can be found among Radio Flyer’s products and it is amazing how it managed to sustain popularity for hundreds of years. Kids are still fascinated by the wooden rocking horse, with its soft saddle and grip handles. Suitable for ages 1-4, it represents the ideal Christmas present. Aside from the classic piece, Radio Flyer demonstrates its innovativeness and comes up with a brand new model of rocking horse. This piece is a rocking horse on springs and has a wide base for stability, not to mention it has integrated steps for kids to easily climb onto the saddle. The kids absolutely love it.

Rocking horses come in all shapes and sizes. Careful parents must consider a variety of details when purchasing a rocking horse, starting with the child for whom they are buying. One must consider a toy of suitable height and width. Of course, the child should be able to mount the horse with ease. Most of the toy companies, including Radio Flyer, help their customers and determine the horse that can be purchased by suggesting suitable ages for their products.

The tricycle or the trike as kids call it is another splendid product offered by Radio Flyer. Small tricyles are often used by children who have not yet learned to balance a bicycle. Most of them have a push handle that allows the adult to turn the front wheel. They have a steel frame and air tires for a super soft and quiet ride. Some models have a fabric canopy to give sun protection, adjustable seat and other additional features such as cup holders and even ringing bell. One of the most recent inventions of Radio Flyer is the Twist Trike. It has a patented quick release twist and lock mechanism for easy transformation. It can quickly go from a traditional tricycle to a chopper-style three wheeler and make the kid like he is into another world.

Their bikes have been able to fit into many different cultures and children still love to show off their bikes and riding skills. When you are a kid there are few things more important to you than your bike and there are few things you’d rather be doing than riding your bike.

The like-a-bike, made of a wooden structure and with no pedals is ideal for beginners and it represents a great way to form great family memories. Children must get into the cycling habit early and the family rides must be kept shor t with plenty other activities.

This super light weight bike is a wonderful toy and it can be scooted along like a hobbt horse. Children progress much faster and with much greater confidence and fun using the scoot method. Kids love bikes as it is their first independent transport and helps them to learn a lot about balance, coordination and even socializing.

Red Wagon is a company whose creative wheels have never stopped turning. Throughout the years, the Red Wagon company created a lot of toys and made the world a better place for many chidren. The wagon created by this company will remain forever as classic toys and a true symbol of America.

The name of the company – Red Wagon – comes from the very first wagon created. It was made of wood and was traditionally painted red. Today, Red Wagon has lent the Radio Flyer its name and it passed its secret to newer and different generations.

Kids still love the classic yet reinvented Red Wagon and you can be sure that this toy is destinated for special recognition. There are various models of wagons and kids can use them for all sorts of things including carrying their toys and even pets. For little girls, there is a special model called the Little Red Wagon and it is ideal for taking their beautiful dolls and soft toys for a walk.

Radio Frequency Energy Fans Thermacool

I guess you wouldn’t think that radio frequency energy would be making waves in the beauty industry? But, it is. A device that uses RFE is being used in the Thermalcool procedure. If you don’t know what Thermacool is, then you haven’t had your ear to the station. Thermacool is the new non-surgical procedure that gives men and women a healthy alternative to surgical facelifts. The process tightens your skin by contracting the deep layers of skin. Thermacool is also known on the market as Thermalift and Thermage. Let’s call it Thermacool because it sounds hip.

Two thumbs up! That’s the rating The Food and Drug Administration is giving Thermacool. The FDA’s approval is leading to the procedures widespread use. Doctors and their patients believe Thermcool irons out wrinkles and reduces sagging skin. The face is the best place to use Thermacool, however it is used on the neck and arms as well. It is a good treatment anywhere there is loose skin. Some folks are using it under the arms and to treat stretch marks on the abdomen and hips.

60-Year Old Lynn Shores had a treatment six months ago and is looking forward to having another one in about three more months. She says, “I was looking twice my age! I had the procedure done because I wanted to look younger and prettier in my face.” Shores began to see results about two months after having the treatment. She is among a growing number of people who believe the benefits of Thermacool far outweigh the risks. Thermacool may cause some discomfort but the risk of surgery, anesthesia and scarring are less than with surgical procedures. In fact, some people say the procedure really doesn’t hurt that much at all.

So you may be wondering how does it work? It takes anywhere from thirty to forty five minutes to complete the Thermacool procedure. Most patients’ only need a topical anesthetic cream placed on the face. Your technician will do that about an hour before the treatment is scheduled to begin. Other people may need Valium or some other kind of oral sedative. “I was just so jittery about having it done, says 35 year old Marc Thompson. I didn’t know if it would improve my appearance or make it worst. I guess men are just not supposed to try these things, but I took my wife’s recommendation.” Thermacool is not any different from any other surgical procedure if you need a stronger sedative, you’ll need an anesthesiologist to administer the dose.

As I mentioned, Thermacool uses radio frequency energy to apply heat under the epidermis or top layer of the skin. The heat is applied directly into the dermis layer. The dermis layer is right under the epidermis. I could feel a warming on my face. It felt unusual. I couldn’t do anything but lay still,” says Tonya Morgan.

You’ll want to lay still too as the heat causes the tissue in the dermis layer to warm up. This controlled heating of deeper layers of skin and tissue causes the skin to contract and tighten. This is known as volumetric tissue heating. There is some pain every time there is a pulse, but a cooling spray brings some relief after each pulse.

The volumetric tissue heating causes the collagen underneath the skin tissue to contract and shrink. At the same time, the top layer of the skin is kept cool by cryogen cooling. Cryogen cooling keeps the temperature on the surface of the skin cool while the dermis tissues are heated up. The heating action causes two reactions. The first result is an increased thickness in the top layer of skin. It’s the heating that actually causes works to reduce the wrinkles.

The second result is collagen remolding and the production of new collagen. The skin continues to tighten over time as the skin heals. You may be able to see a difference in your appearance immediately. However, it takes most people up to six months to see a difference. It is possible for the procedure to be repeated again after six months. You should let your technicians take before and after pictures to help you see any subtle changes.

Now, you’re probably wondering whether Thermacool, Thermage and Thermalift are right for you. Patient’s who live on a pacemaker cannot undergo the procedure; it’s just too risky. You may want to pass on the procedure if your skin is really, really loose. Surgery may be your only hope. However, Thermacool works best in combination with laser treatments, Botox, resytlane, and collagen injections. Traditional eye, forehead and eyebrow surgeries also work well with Thermacool.

Research shows Thermacool works! If it didn’t the FDA wouldn’t have given it a nod. Patients wouldn’t have issued a strong endorsement either. “I’ve never felt better about myself. I know most people would be afraid to try a procedure like this, but not me! I’m all for looking younger and healthier. The best part is how good I feel about me,” says Shores.

Buying Radio? Read This and Don't Waste Your Money

Buying radio? Then find out how to make the most of your investment.

No doubt you’ve listened to, and then quickly deleted, messages from account execs from your local radio stations. Maybe you’ve even entertained them in your office. Hopefully you didn’t have to sanitize your phone or office afterwards.

Well, radio can be great way to garner awareness cheaply... ahem, inexpensively... if you do it right. Remember... 97.823% of all radio ads S-U-C-K. That leaves you to carry the banner for great radio advertising. And when you do, you will get noticed. Believe me, you will get noticed.

Why do so many radio ads suck? Between the screaming car ads, and nasally voiced business owners who should never get anywhere near a microphone reading their own ads, and the next “turnkey” business opportunity, they are all dressed in their plaid suits and resorting to hucksterism. They want your money and they want it now.

They forget one thing. Well, actually a lot of things, but the main thing they forget that people are not tuning in for their ad. Listeners want Rush, Rome, Al, Laura, music, sports, news, or whatever. People aren’t saying, “Gee, I gotta hear great heating and air conditioning ads today!”

Your ad is interrupting what they listen for. By nature, you are already behind the eight ball before you start in radio. But there is hope.

First off, do NOT let a radio station employee write your ad.

If your exec isn’t a writer (you may luck out in that some radio execs are copywriters in training looking for an agency gig) and you don’t speak up, your ad will probably get written by either: the station producer- who may have already written 4 or 5 other ads that same DAY,who doesn’t have enough time to fully attend to your needs, and thereby wasting your money; OR a disc jockey (strange term- they don’t spin wax anymore, Daddy-O) whose annoyed he or she has to write an ad, or who’s not a talented writer to begin with, also wasting your money; OR by an intern, secretary, or other employee - who may relish the opportunity, but may not have the chops yet, or is being pressured to write something “quick and dirty” so it can produced and on the air -- also thereby wasting your money.

You have creative control and the ultimate yay or nay, so feel free to choose your writer. Hint and Shameless Plug : Clicking the link will direct you to an excellent radio writer: http://www.brandedbetter.com.

Now, when it comes down to concepting and reviewing scripts, remember this: Radio is called Theater of the Mind for good reason. Use it to your advantage. Recall your disadvantage before starting.

Cleverness will grab attention. But... it must be on strategy to be effective. Give your writer ONE benefit to express. How does that benefit resonate with the target audience? Don’t think if you have a “mundane” or “boring” product or service, there’s no cleverness to be had. Give a good writer enough information, and they will find it.

A few of the BEST radio ads I’ve ever heard was for a soil conditioner. Yup. A soil conditioner. Two voices. One performed by the writer. The other performed by midlevel (read... talented, and nonunion) voice talent. Writer as The Hick Farmer. Nonunion Talent as the Smart Farmer.

Hick Farmer: “Hey, nay-bor...Whatzzat on yer roof?”

Smart Farmer: (obviously) “It’s a satellite dish.”

Hick Farmer: “Whazzit fer...? Talkin’ to the Martians?”

You can almost hear the slack jaw in your head. And it makes you want to hear more. That’s your goal for radio.

Another ad for the same product was even better.

Smart Farmer: “Hey, neighbor... Why so glum?”

Hick Farmer: “Aw... the weeds, the bugs, the disease... my crops are about ruined... I’ve had an awful year. The wife has been pickin’ her tooth for leftovers.”

Now, I’m not a farmer. I never heard of conditioning soil. But, you can bet I understood what it did after these ads. And did I mention I was wondrously entertained when receiving this information?

To be fair, these ads were produced by an ad agency with a good sized budget. The campaign also won some ad awards and some industry awards. The point is-- a good ad isn’t loud, repetitive, trite, condescending, or tries to jam as many words possible into the time frame. In fact, silence works to your advantage. Silence in radio (or even TV) is like white space on a print ad. It tastefully surrounds the content for maximum effectiveness, drawing the eye in (or in this case, the ear) to read (hear) the copy.

Voices are important, too. Ever listen to the radio and hear the same voice all over the ads? That’s usually Mr. or Ms. Producer-- the person who makes sure the ad gets made. That’s why they don’t have time to write a good one for you. Many freelance writers, myself included, know something about voices and casting, and can probably get you the best talent for your dollar. Some writers can even voice their own copy.

Oh, and if you’re wondering what length of ad to buy? In most cases, go for the :60. For just a few dollars more, you get twice the time to play with. If you are spending money on radio, use ALL the resources available to you to create the best possible ad. And that usually entails going outside the radio station walls to get it.

Life Coach, Speaker, Author and Radio Show Producter and Host

What better example than Jesus’ life to explain about having a life’s purpose? No other example I can think of, can you?

From the moment he was born--wait, hold up…BEFORE he was born, His purpose was already established. And so was yours.

Jesus was born to the exact parents He needed to be born to, in order for him to fulfill his life’s purpose, and so were you.

Mary was a virgin. Just so happened, she was about to be married. Coincidence? I think not.

Nowadays, things are a lot different than they were back then. And some people, or should I say, society as a whole, no longer frowns on woman who have children out of wedlock. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that women didn’t get pregnant before they were married back-in-the-day, but most of the time it resulted in a gunshot wedding.

Mary didn’t have to have one of those because she was already planning her wedding when she became pregnant. There are no such things as coincidences.

Mary was also a direct descendent of Abraham. Coincidence? I think not.

Now, when Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant, like any other man, he got mad and started not to marry her. I can see it now. Picture this: Mary calls Joseph (or wait, no phones yet), Mary goes to see Joseph and tells him she has something really important she has to tell him. She’s a little nervous because she can’t imagine what he is going to say. She finally gets up the nerve and says, “Uhm, Joe, uhm, (fake smile) guess what? I’m pregnant.” (Can you imagine that?)

Not too many people, or at least not the brothers I know, would have ever believed that story. OK, I’m laughing right now because I just got a visual of my husband. If I had said something like that to him, he would have first, gave me that look. Then he would have said, ‘wait, how is that possible? I’ve never even touched you.’ Then, if I would have started explaining that I was pregnant by God…

But an angel spoke to Joseph and explained the situation, so Joseph was cool with it real fast and never questioned it again. Joseph was the right earthly father for Jesus.

When Jesus was 12 years old, around the age when most of us first start to experience our first taste of independence—he found himself mentors—people who could teach him what he needed to know about the word of God.

This is exactly what we need to do to develop our craft, our skill, and our purpose. Find yourself a mentor. Someone who is doing exactly what it is that you want to do and ask them questions; offer to help out so that you may learn. You aren’t born knowing everything, but there are others out there that know what you need to know. Go where they are. Ask them questions. Find out what they know. Research--until the student becomes the teacher, the same way Jesus did.

There really isn’t any information available to us about what was going on in Jesus’ life between the ages of 12 and 30. I’d venture to say that he was just like all of us. He was finding himself.

Oh, I’m not suggesting that he didn’t know His purpose but it wasn’t until the age of 30 that he started living His life’s purpose completely. I think this is important. I personally believe that before you reach the age of 30, you haven’t fully matured. I know it was that way for me. During your teen years you are just learning a little about yourself. During your twenties, you are finally learning about what it means to be completely independent of your parents—you are now on your own. By the time you are 30, you are generally through with the hanging out, having no direction in life and are ready to start taking life seriously. This is usually around the time when you start to think, “Why am I here? What is the meaning of life? What is my purpose?”

There are exceptions and some people find themselves a lot earlier in life—I’m not one of them.

Once Jesus was certain of his purpose and armed with the knowledge he needed, he took the world by storm. For three years he spent all of his life living his purpose. He never worried about whether or not his purpose was the right purpose for him. Whenever he needed guidance, he prayed. He didn’t worry about whether or not he was “big” enough to handle his life’s purpose. He didn’t worry about whether or not it was paying the right salary or whether he would make enough to eat or buy the clothes that he liked. As a matter of fact, he told his disciples not to worry about what they would eat or where they would sleep. He even told them not to worry about what they would have to say when the time came for them to talk. God would take care of all of that. He knew his purpose and knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that everything was going to work exactly the way it was designed to work.

Even down to his selection of his disciples. He knew exactly whom he was going to select to be a part of his team and why. He went along and developed a crew. He knew exactly whom he needed in his posse and they knew it too. Not one person said, ‘oh, no I can’t do that, Jesus. This sounds good and all that, but fishing is how I make a living, regardless if I enjoy it or not, my family has got to be fed. I don’t know what’s going to happen if I come and follow you. I got this thing going on already and your thing just doesn’t seem all that stable to me. What will my friends and family think? How am I going to make a living?’

They didn’t say any of these things. They realized their purpose and when the opportunity came around, they leaped at it and never looked back.

Are you ready to take that leap? Are you prepared to start living your life’s purpose? All you need to do it is faith. So long as you believe with all your heart that God will provide, He will.

At anytime you can walk away from the dead end job that you know is causing you ulcers and stress. BUT, just like Jesus, you have to be prepared. You will have to learn all that you can about your craft, your skills and your passions. All it takes is some action. Instead of wanting to be like Mike (do people still say that?), design your life after Jesus. There’s no better person to pattern your life after than him.

Find your purpose and start living your life with passion, excitement and faith. You can do it. I know you can because you were born a winner.

Satellite Radio & Shock Jocks: Howard Stern – Bad Boy of the Airwaves

The term “Shock Jock” has become well known since the 1980s. These bad boys of the airwaves have happily stomped on and disregarded the FCC regulations to the delight - and at times, disgust of their audiences. The rule of thumb in the “Shock Jock” entertainment form is, the more disturbing, shocking, and politically incorrect the show - the better.

Howard Stern, one of the highest paid radio personalities in broadcast history is the one who is responsible for the phrase “Shock Jock” Howard Stern has proclaimed himself “King of the Media” With his great success he pioneered what is known as “Shock Jock” radio programs. It is commonly believed that Howard Stern’s exploitation of women, sex and his discrimination of certain ethnic groups is one of the main ingredients for his success. Howard Stern is the most fined personality in radio and actually encourages the fines and touts these FCC fines as if they were medals of Honor. The Howard Stern radio show was the beginning of a revolution in radio.

The Ingredients of Shock Jock Success

What is it about this type of radio program that brings so much success to these bad boys of the airwaves? The total shock value of their programs is one of the main ingredients to their success. For example, on one of Howard Stern’s radio shows, he convinced a female caller to have phone sex with him on the air. He made deep buzzing noises into his microphone, and had her sit on a speaker with the volume turned up until she reached an on-the-air orgasm. Another notorios example occurred on DC101 Radio in Washington D.C. in which Stern called Air Florida Airlines and asked what the fare was for a one-way ticket from National Airport to the 14th Street Bridge. He was making light of the crash of an Air Florida flight into Washington D.C.'s 14th Street Bridge one day earlier, on January 13, 1982. That June 29, Stern was fired from DC-101 radio after being suspended for criticizing his station management and two other radio stations.

The number of commercials aired during his radio show has greatly increased from the 1980s to the present. Though Howard Stern has brought much critisism to this form of entertainment, he still seems to be able to draw hords of listeners. Despite the provocative content of Stern's show—or perhaps because of it—many listeners and critics consider Stern to be a talented on-air personality and formidable interviewer.

The FCC and the Broadcast Industry Cracksdown

Howard Stern’s fame has brought out a number of imitation "shock jocks" who try to top Stern in terms of offensiveness and rudeness, but these imitators have found themselves with more troubles to worry about than listener ratings. In 2002 fellow Infinity Broadcasting Corporation jocks Opie and Anthony had their nationally syndicated WNEW-FM "extreme talk" show cancelled after they managed to get a couple to engage in sexual intercourse at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, then airing a running commentary of the act on their show.

Though Stern’s show is generally considered not to be as offensive as Opie and Anthony, on February 25, 2004, Clear Channel Communications "indefinitely suspended" him from six markets because of alleged indecency. The broadcasted show that brough so much retribution, featured Rick Salomon, whose sole claim to fame is the release of video showing him having sex with Paris Hilton.

During this show Stern held a sexually-oriented interview with Soloman, asking him graphic questions about anal sex. This came only a day after Clear Channel fired Bubba the Love Sponge for nearly the same reason.

This is considered to be part of a crackdown triggered by the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show controversy. Because Clear Channel and some of its executives have donated over $200,000 to the Republican Party, Stern claims the company was trying to penalize him for his ruthless criticisms of President George W. Bush. He endorsed John Kerry in the 2004 U.S. presidential campaign, and encouraged listeners to vote for him.

On April 8, 2004, Clear Channel Communications announced it would "permanently terminate" its relationship with the shock jock after being fined $500,000 by the FCC. However, on July 19, Stern returned to four of the six markets Clear Channel taken him off of, and added five new ones to his list — this time on Infinity-owned stations. In August, he returned to a fifth market, Miami, on an independent station. His return was greeted with controversy as the Miami Dolphins threatened to terminate their broadcast deal with the station if they did not fire him.

As a result of the this type of show’s offensive practices there have been enormous fines as well as even more dire consequences to the personalities known as “Shock Jocks” Though the fines to these areas of broadcasting mounted up over the years in the most part the it was tolerated until era of the Janet Jackson scandal. With this broadcast scandal - tolerance went out the window and in came fierce regulation of the broadcast world.

Shock Jocks Turn To Satellite Radio

Like satellite television, Satellite radio is not marketed to any one demographic more than any other. The concept behind satellite radio is very basic. Satellite audio's model is a basic copy of Satellite television. XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Radio both have looked at DirecTV's success and set out to attract the same market to its product.

In the United States, two companies have monopolized satellite radio: XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio. XM has a 100,000 Sq. Ft. broadcasting facility in Washington DC as well as some satellite offices in New York. Sirius broadcasts out of New York City. They both require a person to buy equipment ranging from $200 to $500 in order to receive the signal, and they both have similar methods for dealing with spots not conducive to satellite coverage.

Originally some XM music channels had commercials, while Sirius was commercial-free. Since February 2004 XM has 68 Commercial-Free Music Channels, 33 Channels of News, Sports, Talk & Entertainment, 21 dedicated Channels of XM Instant Traffic & Weather. Sirius has 65 music-only channels as well as traffic and weather reports for major cities. XM operates on 2 geostationary satellites while Sirius uses 3 geosynchronous satellites. Both services are available mainly via portable receivers in automobiles, but both have many accessories so you can listen at home through your stereo, with a portable boombox, or online through your computer.

Local repeaters, on the same satellite frequencies, allow XM and Sirius's signals to be available even if the view of the satellite is blocked. As of June 30, 2004, XM claimed 2.1 million subscribers, and Sirius claimed 400,000.

Car manufacturers have been installing satellite radio receivers in some models for a few years now, and several models of portable satellite radio receivers are available from a variety of electronics companies

Howard Stern heads for Satellite Radio

On October 6, 2004, Stern announced on his show that he has signed a five year, $500 million deal with the satellite radio service Sirius. The deal, which takes effect on January 1, 2006, would enable Stern to broadcast his show without restrictions imposed by the FCC. The deal would permit Howard Stern to program two additional Sirius channels, one of which would be available at an extra charge to subscribers.

Opie and Anthony

Opie and Anthony are hosts of the satellite radio program 'The Opie and Anthony Show.' The show is based in New York City and airs on XM Satellite Radio. The show was previously on WNEW-FM in New York and WAAF-FM in Boston.

Opie and Anthony's crude style of entertainment has earned them the status of the elite of "shock jocks"

The pair signed a contract with XM on August 5, 2004 and started broadcasting October 4th of the same year. They had remained off-the-air for about two years as Infinity Broadcasting, their previous employer, held them to their contract as well as their no-compete clause. On XM satellite radio, O&A are no longer bound by FCC regulations regarding language and content, thus curses and pollitically incorrect humor are common on their show.

There is some concern that with the initialization of satellite radio that mainstream media will begin to be monoplized by a few companies and many radio stations go off the air. Though it is important to safe guard the media from monopolization of the few, the future of the airwaves are in the heavens with satellite radio.

Top Ten Reasons to get Satellite Radio

Over the years we’ve seen all areas of entertainment change and improve in many ways. We’ve seen more and more channels appear on satellite television, we’ve seen the appearance of CDs and DVDs, and now we have access to satellite radio to complement our AM/FM service. Satellite radio is available through two providers, Sirius and XM, both of which offer a range of subscription packages and programming choice.

Satellite radio is becoming more and more popular, both with discerning listeners that want more choice and better quality, and with those that have had to put up with a lot of static in the past and are unable to get a clear reception on AM/FM radio. You can get some really affordable deals on satellite radio these days, so enjoying crystal clear, uninterrupted, diverse entertainment has never been easier. You can get satellite radio installation for your car or your home, and by making some comparisons you can enjoy some excellent deals on satellite radio accessories. You will need a satellite radio antenna and a satellite radio receiver in order to enjoy this service, but again you get some excellent deals and offers when you go online.

There are many reasons why satellite radio is becoming more and more popular, and between them Sirius and XM already have around three million subscribers. So, why would you want to get satellite radio and pay a monthly subscription when you can get AM/FM radio for free? You’ll find a selection of the most popular reasons for satellite radio purchase listed below:

Reasons for choosing satellite radio

More choice: satellite radio from Sirius or XM offers an incredible choice of channels. You can enjoy over one hundred channels of pure entertainment from these satellite radio providers, including music, sports, talk radio, news channels, and more. The choice of channels means that you can enjoy a wide range of niche programming as well, so whatever your taste or need you are almost certain to find something well suited to your requirements with satellite radio.

Excellent quality: With satellite radio you can enjoy CD quality in radio format. The digital quality of satellite radio means that you can enjoy the vast range of entertainment with crystal clear sound quality. You won’t have to put up with static and fading reception any longer, as is often the case with AM/FM radio. With satellite radio you can enjoy pure, high definition digital sound to accompany the wide choice of quality entertainment.

Commercial-free channels: Unlike AM/FM radio, satellite radio offers some commercial-free channels, so you no longer have to put up with constant interruptions to your favourite music or show. With satellite radio, you can enjoy back to back entertainment without commercials and chat to interrupt the flow and entertainment value.

Wider accessibility: Many of us take radio accessibility for granted, but not everyone can gain proper access to AM/FM radio. For example, those living in more rural areas may simply end up hearing static most of the time. Since satellite radio is available all over the Continental United States, this means that even those in normally hard to reach areas can enjoy satellite entertainment and clear, defined, digital sound.

Choice of subscriptions: There are currently two main players in the satellite radio field, and these are Sirius and XM. With both of these satellite radio providers you can enjoy a wide choice of subscription packages, so whatever your budget you should be able to find the perfect deal enabling you to enjoy high definition digital radio at an affordable price. You can enjoy paying on a monthly, annual, two yearly, three yearly, four yearly, or five yearly basis with XM. And with Sirius you can pay on a monthly basis, annually, two yearly or you can even buy a lifetime subscription.

Multi location listening: With satellite radio you can listen to your favourite music and shows in more than one location, which means that you can quickly switch the satellite service from your car stereo to your home entertainment system. You will still pay just one satellite radio subscription fee – all you will need to do is buy a portable satellite receiver.

Easier entertainment access: With satellite radio you no longer have to worry about downloading songs and carrying around a whole stack of CDs in order to enjoy some entertainment when you are traveling – or even when you are at home. With so many channels and so much quality entertainment to choose from you will never be short of something to listen to and enjoy. Plus, you will still have access to your AM/FM radio service, so you won’t have to make any sacrifices in order to enjoy the high definition entertainment provided by satellite radio.

Impressive features: With satellite radio you can enjoy a range of impressive features and additional benefits that will make listening to the radio all the more enjoyable, and will offer even more choice. You can get parental block controls in order to allow parents to stop their kids from listening to explicit programming. You can also enjoy receiving music track information with digital radio, so you can instantly find out details about which artist or song is playing. This information is actually displayed via satellite transmission on the actual controller.

Unique programming: With satellite radio you can enjoy access to programming that is not available on regular AM/FM radio. For example, due to the lack of FCC regulations you can access racier or more controversial content, which on AM/FM radio may be prohibited. The child control features ensure that this content is only accessed by the person in control of the satellite radio and not by the kids or any other unauthorized listener. Satellite radio also offers some exclusive interviews with celebrities, so you could find yourself listening to an exclusive in-studio interview with your favorite star.

Perfect for driving: One pet peeve with many drivers is that when they are listening to the radio, the signal fades intermittently as they drive to and from different areas. This means that whether you are listening to your favorite show or your favorite music, you can lose the signal. You then have to spend time looking for an alternative channel – which can be difficult and even dangerous when you are driving. With satellite radio, you can enjoy uninterrupted, crystal clear sound without loss of signal and without the need to keep changing channels.

Satellite radio: the affordable choice of the next generation

Just as the kids of today don’t remember life without CD players and satellite television, the new generation will become totally accustomed to satellite radio, which is already becoming more and more popular. Again, just like the local and terrestrial channels on television, you will still be able to enjoy AM/FM radio in the future, but as time goes on more and more households and drivers will be enjoying the benefits of satellite.

Whether you enjoy listening to the radio in the house or whether you like to have on some funky tunes as you drive, you will enjoy the ultimate in radio entertainment with satellite radio. You can enjoy all sorts of entertainment, from news and sports to music and talk radio. Just like regular radio, you can ring in and enter competitions or simply to express opinions. And the super quality available with satellite radio will ensure that you get to enjoy your favorite music and shows with minimal disruption and high definition sound.

The choice of subscription packages available from the two main satellite radio providers also makes it easy and affordable to enjoy satellite radio. Whether you want to pay on a monthly basis or whether you want to subscribe for one year or more, you can enjoy low prices. You can even subscribe for a lifetime with Sirius, and the longer you subscribe for the cheaper your subscription works out. So, high quality radio entertainment could cost even less than you imagine.

If you have had satellite or cable television in your home for a while, the chances are that you can barely remember what television entertainment was like before you had satellite or cable. You probably can’t imagine television entertainment without the choice and quality that you now have. Well, the same can be said of satellite radio. In a few years, many households and drivers will have forgotten what radio entertainment was like before the crystal clear quality and excellent choice of satellite radio came along.

Satellite Radio Showdown: Sirius vs XM Radio

The advancement of technology has seen the introduction of many new and exciting gadgets and services over the years: video recorders have been replaced by DVDs; record players with CD players and MP3s; and terrestrial television channels have been expanded to include hundreds of satellite channels to suit all tastes and ages. And now consumers can enjoy the benefits of satellite radio as well. No longer do we have to put up with a limited choice of channels, distorted sound quality, and continual interruptions in service and quality. Satellite radio offers incredible choice, excellent quality, and an uninterrupted service that you can enjoy in your home or in your car.

How does satellite radio work?

When you subscribe to satellite radio you will get an extra band on your home or car radio, for which you will be charged a monthly fee. A special antenna receives the signals from the satellites, much in the same way as a satellite dish receives signals for satellite television viewing. You will then enjoy access to a range of channels, giving you incredible choice over what you listen to whether you are in the home or travelling in your car.

What are the benefits of satellite radio?

There are a number of benefits to subscribing to satellite radio. You can enjoy far more choice for a start, with a range of channels to select from including commercial-free channels. You can enjoy much better reception whilst driving, and you won’t have to put up with poor quality and static as with AM/FM radio. And you can enjoy these benefits at a low monthly fee, enabling you to enjoy a revolutionized radio experience without breaking the bank.

Satellite radio providers: Sirius VS XM

The competition has already started in the world of satellite radio, and the two main players in the field at the moment are Sirius and XM. Both of these providers work in the same way, offering over one hundred satellite radio stations for one monthly subscription fee. Both offer the necessary equipment to enable listeners to enjoy a unique, high quality digital radio experience, and both offer affordable packages.

XM has been around for longer than Sirius, and started broadcasting in September 2001. With over two million subscribers and rising, XM enjoys backing from big names such as General Motors and Honda. Located in Washington DC, the XM network boasts two geosynchronous satellites along with repeaters in major metro areas.

Sirius is a relatively new player when it comes to satellite radio. Sirius started broadcasting in July 2002, and currently has a customer base of under one million. Located at the Rockefeller Center in New York, Sirius has three elliptical-orbit satellites, and does not have a many repeaters as XM radio. Other than this you can enjoy the same digital quality and excellent choice with Sirius as you can with XM.

How do you choose between Sirius and XM satellite radio?

The services, packages, and quality of satellite radio from Sirius and XM is very similar, so it can be difficult to choose. The best way to decide on which service will best suit your needs is to look at the various satellite radio ratings and make satellite radio comparisons.

Both Sirius and XM will enable you to enjoy high quality digital radio, with a wide choice, some commercial-free channels, parental blocks where necessary, talk radio, news channels, and accessibility within the continental United States. You will find some slight differences in programming, so you may want to take this into consideration, and also read up on a satellite radio review or two before you make your decision.

If you are looking to buy a new vehicle, many now come with satellite radio already installed, so you won’t have to make the choice as either Sirius or XM will already be available. It is those with older vehicles or those that want to enjoy satellite radio within the home that need to decide between XM or Sirius radio.

Satellite radio comparisons

The difference between the two satellite radio providers is minimal, so you could have your work cut out when trying to decide which provider you want to go with. Here are a few of the aspects you can look at:

Established and popular: XM satellite radio has been around a little longer than Sirius. It also has a higher subscriber base of over two million compares to Sirius, which has under one million.

Quality and clarity: There really isn’t much in it when it comes to quality and clarity of sound. Because XM and Sirius are both satellite radio providers, listeners can enjoy crystal clear sound and uninterrupted entertainment with either of these services. With both services available across the Continental United States you can enjoy widespread digital entertainment wherever you are in the country.

Choice: Again, there is not much in it when it comes to choice. Both XM radio and Sirius can offer over one hundred channels of music, entertainment, news and even commercial-free entertainment. Because of the choice available with both of these providers, there is likely to be something to suit every taste with both XM and Sirius satellite radio. However, there are some differences in programming choice – although both do offer plenty of choice. It may be worth looking at the actual programs themselves to see which service will offer the most channels that suit your tastes and needs.

Conclusion

Based on the service, choice, and quality it is very difficult to determine whether one service is better than the other. Clearly Sirius offers more cost effect subscription options, and on the other hand XM is the longest standing and most popular of the two services. The service providers you select will be largely based on your needs and your budget.

The best way to ascertain which is going to be the best satellite radio service provider for your needs is to make comparisons, which can be easily done online. Compare the reviews from other users, compare the cost of receivers and other equipment, and compare the programming choice available from each of these providers.

Whether you select Sirius or whether you go for XM you will still be able to enjoy high definition satellite radio, crystal clear sound, over one hundred channels of pure entertainment, and widespread accessibility. Making some comparisons will enable you to determine whether one satellite radio providers offers anything over and above the other that will meets your specific needs or provide a more cost effective option for you.
